When kids and youth play, the world wins!

Science has proven that sport is a double-edged sword; it serves both as a prevention and treatment of disease (FYSS, www.fyss.se). Engaging in competitive sports helps reduce the risk of diseases, and it is also beneficial for relieving illness and stress, while improving mental well-being.

Competitive sports help children improve their social skills, teamwork abilities, mental and physical development, as well as their confidence and self-esteem.

The main objectives of this community-based youth soccer tournament are to foster fun, sportsmanship, socialization, and strong bonds among the communities, especially for the kids. For the organizers, this project truly represents community service.

The Ethiopians are the second populated community in Colorado, the Mexicans/Spanish people are on the top, it is estimated that about 35,000 Ethiopians are local for Colorado, there are 3000-4000 habeshas in city of Aurora (@nebiyu.asfaw); however we don’t have strong unity also are not actively participated in any of the stats’s owned programs,

በኮላሎራዶ ዉስጥ ወደ 35,000 የሚደርሱ ኢትዬጵያን እንዳሉ ይገመታል ይህም በስቴቱ በሕዝብ ብዛት ከሜክሲኮ/ከስፓኒሽ ቀጥሎ ሁለተኛ ደረጃ ያረገናል ነገር ግን እንደ ብዛታችን መጠን ጠንካራ ሕብረት የለንም ልጆቻችን ላይ የተሰራ የሚታይ ሥራም የለም እንዲሁም ስቴቱ በሚያዘጋጀው ኘሮግራሞች ላይ ጠንካራ ተሳትፎ የለንም እንደዚ አይነት ማሕበረሰቡ ላይ በተለይም ልጆች ላይ ያተኮረ ፕሮግራም ልጆች አካላቸዉ እና አእምሮአቸዉ ጤናማ እንዲሆን ይረዳል ከእድሜ አቻዋቻቸዉ ጋር ጔደኝነት ይፈጥራሉ ወይም ያጠነክራሉ አንድነታቸዉን ያሳድጋል ወደፊት ስቴቱ በሚያዘጋጀው ኘሮግራሞች ላይ ጠንካራ ተሳትፎ እንዲኖረን አስተዋጽኦ ያደርጋል

ቤተሰብ ኑ! በኢትዬጵያዊነት ጥላ ስር ልጆቻችንን ኳስ እናጫዉታቸዉ በመጫወታቸዉ ይዝናናሉ ይደሰታሉ ጔደኝነታቸዉ ይጠነክራል አዳዲስ ጔደኝነት ይፈጥራሉ እኛ ወላጆችንም ያግባባል ያቀራርባል!

ስፖርት ከፖለቲካ ከሀይማኖት ከብሄር ከዘር የፀዳ ሁሉንም በአንድነት በአንድ ቋንቋ የሚያግባባ ክስተት ነዉ!

There are many Ethiopian community-based soccer teams and academies in Colorado, most of which focus on youth development; however, these organizations often struggle to collaborate for various reasons.

This youth soccer tournament project aims to provide an opportunity for our kids to meet, play soccer, have fun, and socialize with one another. In this way, the Ethiopian community can come together, transcending differences in religion, politics, and ethnicity.

We encourage all Ethiopian youth to register for this tournament, either as teams or individuals, so that they can play soccer, have fun, and socialize with their peers. There are five age groups available for this tournament.

• 7U (7 years and under)
• 9U (9 years and under)
• 11U (11 years and under)
• 13U (13 years and under)
• 15U (15 years and under))

We are expecting about 200 Ethiopian-born youths to sign up and participate in this first-ever tournament. So far, the following four Aurora-based soccer academies have expressed their interest in participating:

Youth sports provide numerous benefits, including improved physical health, enhanced social skills, and increased self-esteem. Engaging in sports helps children develop teamwork and leadership abilities, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Additionally, participation in sports can improve discipline, focus, and time management as young athletes learn to balance practice with academics. Overall, involvement in youth sports promotes lifelong habits of exercise and healthy living.

Many local parents expressed their interest to register their kids for this tournament, even if they don’t have a team, also we have seen many kids love to play soccer thus we are open to register kids (with no team), then we organize a team assign experienced coach, arrange two/three weeks practice, facilitate soccer jersey and make the team ready for the tournament,
